Reserves had a big win while the Seniors struggled to find form in the heavy conditions. While the sun was shining it was another "Men in Mud" day. Arm bands were worn in respect for Nick Evers who sadly passed away in recent weeks.
Thanks to Mal for organising the Sponsors and Supporters Group function - excellent selection of snacks and lots of cold Crownies!
Good
win to the Reserves
Seniors
Hutchins had lost some form with the departure of key players but are always
quick and skillful.
Uni's
form has been hot and cold recently but love beating the Beans especially when
the Southee-Palfreyman
Cup is up for grabs.
Only a few comments this week as it was a pretty scrappy affair.
Jumped
by three goals in the first quarter
An
even second quarter but still down a couple.
Umpire paid a free to Corbett ....................... who
kicked a point
Bit of
lip from a Hutchins player and an accurate shot from Corbett this time........
.... a bit more mouth......
... and anothe goal to Corbett.
Nice
passage of play and a goal to Nelson
Under
2 goals down at the last break and with the wind behind them in the last, things
looked promising for the home side
Free
food and drinks kept many indoors.
Hutchins were too good in the last. Uni couldn't stop their ability to find
space and pass the ball accurately to running players.
Southee-Palfreyman Cup to Nick Leitch and the mandatory scull which almost
warranted a re-run.
