MATCH REPORT:

A great first quarter saw us keep the ball out of OHA's hands, switch play well and lead by 3 goals at quarter time. We then kicked the first couple after the break but when the rain came OHA's bigger bodies came to the fore to get back in the game by halftime. Conditions after half time suited OHA and they ran out winners by 19 points. Our backline continued to perform well with Blake, Blaze, Sammy and Boothy the standouts. Bunsen and Woody provided excellent targets up forward and pleasing to see Troy back.

MATCH REPORT:

Great kicking by Hobbo saw us lead by 3 goals at quarter time but OHA fought back in the second quarter. We put the foot down in the last ten minutes of the third quarter and led by 5 goals at three quarter time. OHA showed fight in the last quarter but we ran out winners by 33 points.
Wonderful spread of  9 goal kickers and the backline solid gives us a good base for the next few weeks. Two Names was a standout all over the ground and Luke played his best game for the year. Baxter and Albs gave us a lot of drive from the backline and Bos on the wing linked up well with both ends of the ground.
With a win over us last time St Virgils will again provide us with a huge test for our last home game. This will be a real opportunity to continue to refine our game.

Top of the table clash with the Girl Bows taking on second place Lindisfarne at ANZAC Park on Saturday. We went into this game knowing we were in for a classic and it didn’t fail to deliver.
We matched the physical game style of the Two Blues well and gave as good as we took. Unfortunately in the first quarter we lost Sarah Ikin to an injury, however, our mids stood up, none more so than Bella Johnston, who had a stellar game! In fact, she had the best game she’s ever played in the Bows gear!
Our forwards worked tirelessly for front position all game and we were rewarded with 4 goals across the game. Our delivery and ball movement from the back line into the forward line showed the extra work we had been putting into this area and we started to get some bang for our buck.
Our backs are our lifeblood and they didn’t disappoint again this week. They were under immense pressure and as individuals made some very clever football decisions on the fly and worked seamlessly as a team to hold Lindisfarne to 4 goals.
First gamer Bec Boxall had a great game deep forward and in the ruck alongside Leah Bartlett. Jas Allnut and Bella Shannon also had stellar games, using their pace and ability to move the ball our way quickly and efficiently.
Next week see’s us at home vs a much improved Lauderdale outfit. This will be a challenge for us so we must have our A-Game on and play spectacular Uni footy!
