Round 1 - 12th April
The rain held off and Uni enjoyed double victories at
the picturesque OHA oval. New players made valuable contributions while a few
old stagers shone.
Reserves - Second Half
Coach Marek Matuszek prepared his side for the last quarter.
Leith McCarthy played his last game as he moves to Melbourne for work.
Hates the attention....
Seniors - Full Game
Out early for their warm-ups
Umps had been in the news all week - the game needs
them.

plagued with injury and Bartulovic at the first break

Down by a point but Uni had had 4 more scoring shots.
Troy Stewart has retired but supporting the coach from the bench.
Good to see a mature Jordan Gunther join his step-dad Ben Beams on the field.
New players Matthew Ede and Tim Lewinski should have
been pleased with their first quarters but probably
wondering about playing as a Rainbow rather than a
Tiger or Lion!
Arnold consistently provided first use of the ball and
Beams marks
Great mark and goal to Bielski
Isaac Mathewson crossed from North Hobart with his
brother Ben
Jack Hamilton clears the ball and Reeves on his merry
way to kicking 5
Arnold and Mathewson and coach Burgess defends
Hamilton and Bartulovic
Gunther supported by Hamilton
with Michael Gowans looking over the fence
Marks and near mark to Burgess, Fenton and Rippon
The main break and nine ponts up but at 5.11 accuracy
is still a concern
Arnold to Beams
Arnold gets his first major as a Rainbow.
Bielski and Beams kicking another.
Matthew Ede with his first goal......
...and his second
Gunther, Bielski and Matthewson are reminded that OHA
won with the last kick of the night last year.
Bielski sat out the last
quarter with a hammie twinge.
Only up by two goals but Reeves extends that with an
early last quarter goal
Beams with another goal and Stevens delivering quality
product to the forwards
Marks to Cracknell and Arnold
Ben Matthewson was used to replace the big bodies of
Stride and Gowans from last year's team
Beams and Reeves were too good up forward and steered
Uni to a convincing win.
A 49 point win to start the season
Reigning Premiers DOSA at Uni next week which will be
a real test.
Burgess accepts the Chris
Nicholls Shield and Joey Arnold tries to scull above his weight with a
predictable result!
