Reserves - Last Quarter

Close at the last change

How come the boundary umpire threw the ball in after this goal Troy???

On top of the ladder by percentage - well done considering a couple of late changes on the day.

Good to see a couple of boundary umpires this week.

James and Gill were late omissions and Richmond are the reigning premiers.

Players at this level only ask for consistent decision-making on the basics of the game but...........

Maguire back after a four week suspension - you'd have thought he murdered an ump's mother.

Nelson with a couple of early goals gave Uni the perfect start. He kicked 3 for the day

Brooks, Matuszek and Reeves all featuring early.

Matuszek and Whittle

Gilmour goaling and hand-balling

Didn't take long for Maguire to hit his straps and was named in the best.

Gowans continued his fantastic season.

  Brooks in full flight

Maguire

Brooks always knows where the camera is

Two speedsters, Scott and Nelson

Guess who? Reeves kicked another bag of 5 and has 58 for the year.

Scott in full flight.

Mark and goal to Hogan who also kicked five

A perfect start - up by five goals at the first break but Richmond are notoriously the masters of comebacks.

Gowans and Scott

Beams drops the shoulder to clear a path.

Beams was stylish as usual and the Skipper cops a nasty one in the marking contest to earn a free.

Matuszek, Reeves and Niejalke who was named best player.

Shaw spots Hogan....

.... and uses his trusty left to execute a pin-point pass.

Bailey and Bielski were solid in defense and broke lines to feed the forwards.

Mark to Gilmour but Beams couldn't quite find the handle.

Reeves again with a spectacular celebratory leap. Watch that knee!

Reeves showing Bailey where he wants the pass and Beams wondering where his timing went!

Boys will be boys Niejalke.
Goal umpire looks a bit bored with the number of possessions Mazey was getting.

Bielski - terrific to watch

Shaw and Matuszek

Same margin as quarter time at the main break - cause for concern?

Burgess

Nice mark and goal to Matuszek

Stretch offered an explanation for his attire .... but it didn't make much sense!

Beams and Reeves - determined not to let the Blues back in

A flying Saunders

Gilmour feeding the ball forward and Beams happy to have found that timing again

Goal to Reeves after a perfect Beam's pass

Whittle, Hamilton and Gowans

Goal to Burgess was handy to stem the flood of Richmond goals

Marks to Whittle and Bielski and Nelson in the play again

Out scored by 3 goals in the quarter and Burgess and Gilmour dig deep

The start of a terrific ball-bouncing dash from Scott

Lass than two goals the difference at the last break and the momentum still with Richmond

Even though the training lights were turned on, failing light was not conducive to clear action photography unfortunately.

Early goal to Reeves was handy and Brooks had his hands full playing on Blue's champ, Barwin.

Goal to Shaw but Richmond were kicking just as many. Mark to Gowans.

Screamer to Scott (unfortunately fully not captured), goal to Hogan and mark to Mazey.

End of the day for Reeves. Luckily he was up and about after the game.

Telling mark to Hansen (not Ashley) and Brooks with a pass forward.

A much needed running goal to Bielski

Bielski

Mark to Maguire.

Frantic stuff in the closing moments

Sealer to Nelson and a 5 point win.

Top of the ladder and feeling good!  Don't forget next week's game breaks the pattern and is also a home game - against DOSA
